NEWFOUNDLANDERS
The men of the Newfoundland Regiment were stationed in the town of Ayr during WWI. My Grandfather and Grandmother lived in Ayr at the time and I remember my grandmother talking about 'The Foondies' who were held in high regard and great affection by the local folk.
