This cross of Stuart Chisholm, Late Depy. Inspector General of Army Hospitals who departed this life on 30th Sep 1862 in the 69th year of his age and the 30th year of his army service. Of your charity pray also for the soul of his wife Mary who died on the 7th Nov 1873 aged 79 years. Fortified by the rites of the holy catholic church, her last words were glory be to the father and to the son and to the holy ghost, amen. Be merciful o lord and give rest to their souls. This tablet is placed here by their son Captain Archd. Macra Chisholm, late 42nd Regt. Royl. Highlanders.
