In loving memory of Thomas MacNiven (late 78th Highlanders) died at Diriebught, Invss. 15th May 1904 aged 61 years. Also of Helen Ann Fraser wife of the above died 17th Dec 1936 aged 88 years. And their son John died 14th Nov 1952 aged 81 years.

In loving memory of Alexandrina Grant wife of Donald Munro, late Col Serg 93rd Sutherland Highlanders who died at 22nd March 1904. Also of her husband Donald Munro who died at Devon Cottage, Alness 25th May 1919 aged 78 years. And of their son in law Roderick MacKenzie, 5 Duncraig Street, Inverness died 26th Nov 1944 and his wife Margaret Munro died 27th Jan 1945. Elizabeth Munro died 8th April 1962 aged 85. In memory of Margaret Sarah MacKenzie Newman 14th March 1942 - 22nd Dec 2006. Placed by her sister Elizabeth MacKenzie Burrows.

In loving memory of Thomas Wakeham RN born Sep 1819 died July 1899. Also Eliza his wife born 11th June 1819 died 13th Dec 1898.

1130. In memory of Captain Douglas Wimberley, late XXth Foot and LXXIXth Cameron Highlanders born 11th June 1828 died 7th Nov 1912. Also of his wife Helen Charlotte Campbell born 19th Dec 1830 died 8th April 1918. Their son Colin Campbell Wimberley died in Australia 18th Sep 19?6.

In loving memory of Colonel James Duncan MacPherson 4th Bengal Cavalry, eldest son of Major General Sir James Duncan MacPherson, KOB died 19th Oct 1927 in his 87th year. Emily Ann Erskine, wife of the above and eldest daughter of Major Robert Roy Adams died 22nd March 1937 aged 82 years. In dearest memory of Ismay Bellew Logan, wife of Maxwell Beckett Logan, second daughter of Major Robert Roy Adams died 18th June 1929 aged 70. In very dear memory of Major General Sir Robert Bellew Adams, VC, KOB, Queens Own Corps of Guides, son of Major Robert Roy Adams, Bengal Staff Corps died 13th Feb 1928.

In memory of Col. Sergt. James Austin, late 93rd Highlanders. He served in the Crimean and Indian Mutiny Campaigns. Born 31st Oct 1836 died 22nd Sep 1908. Also of Jessie wife of the above and daughter of James Beaton of Castle Street born 20th Jan 1835 died 3rd Jan 1921.

In loving memory of Robert William, eldest son of Lt Col Grant, late of Light Infantry and Army Medical Officer died T ? House, Inverness died 1905 aged 30 years. Jeannie Francis died 31st May 1912. Her husband Robert Alexander Peter Grant, Lieut Col died 3rd March 1916.

In loving memory of John MacKechnie, Captain, SS Gondolier died 1st March 1888 aged 46 years. And of his sons George James died 4th Jan 1906 aged 24 years, Donald died 25th March 1914 aged 28 years. Also of Christina Shaw wife of the said John MacKechnie died 6th Sep 1933 aged 87 years. And of his daughter Catherine MacKechnie died 15th June 1957 aged 81 years and her husband William Corbett died 17th Oct 1903 aged 28 years.


The "Gondolier", a paddle steamer of 250 tons, was built in 1866 by J & G Thomson for David Hutcheson (later MacBrayne). She sailed along the entire length of the Caledonian Canal on the Inverness-Banavie run until 1939. She then passed to the Admiralty, who removed her paddles, saloons, sponsoons, engines and boilers and sank her at Scapa Flow to block the path of enemy shipping during World War II.

In sacred remembrance of my dearly beloved husband William Alexander Robertson who died 13th Sep 1948 aged 53 years. Served in both World Wars, being taken prisoner of war at St Valery 1940. Also his beloved wife Annie MacDougall who died on 15th July 1994 aged 88 years. A much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To the memory of William Alexander Robertson (Handful) by his comraders of the 1st Inverness-Shire Battery RHA and Ammunitions Column 1914-1918.

Erected by John MacDonald, Merchant, Inverness in loving memory of his son Donald James who died at Gladstone Terrace, Inverness 7th May 1890 aged 10 months. Also the above John MacDonald died 31st March 1894 aged 51 years. Also his son John MacDonald, CE, Assistant Maintenance Engineer, Sierra Leone Govt. Railway, WA died at Freetown 13th May 1920 aged 37 years. And of Helen wife of the above named John MacDonald, Merchant who died at Gladstone Terrace 26th July 1935 aged 78 years. A mother beloved and ever precious. Also Alistair Hugh born 29th Dec 1893 died in Edinburgh 4th Dec 1962 beloved husband of Mary A Mason, Bombadier 1st Inverness-Shire TF Battery, RHA 1914-1918. Interred Tomnahurich. And George Alexander born 15th May 1885 died in Vancouver 5th Jan 1963 beloved husband of Grace E Busby, Lieut 6th Batt HLI, Worl War, Managing Director MacDonald & Wilson, Vancouver. And Anna Fraser born 24th March 1887 died at 40 Lovat Road, Inverness on 31st Aug 1970. VAD British Red Cross Society Medal for War Services 1914-1918. And their daughter Jane MacDonald MacGregor, MBE 10th June 1891 - 9th May 1988.

In loving memory of Kenenth MacKay, late of Kessock died 13th June 1904 and his wife Margaret Black died 26th Jan 1911. Also their children Donald died in infancy 1867, Jessie A H died 12th Dec 1926, Robert J M died as result of War Service 22nd Feb 1929, interred in Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal, Canada. Thomas died 26th April 1930 and Margaret died 21st Aug 1947.
