His occupation given on his DC is Coal Miner (Sgt., 2nd Battn. Gordon Highlanders). He died at Carnock? Colliery

LONDON GAZETTE: 16 NOVEMBER 1915
3/6703 Corporal G. Flockhart, 8th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders

For conspicuous gallantry from the 25th to 27th September, 1915, at Hohenzollern Redoubt, especially on the latter day. Ths situation had become very serious, but Corporal Flockhart, by his coolness and bravery, contributed to maintaining the steadiness of the men with him. He also, for over three hours, carried bombs and ammunition supplies to the redoubt, under a very heavy shell fire, and later he assisted to carry back a number of wounded. Throughout the operations his bravery and devotion to duty were beyond praise.

Thanks to 'dhubthaigh' for all the additional information on George Flockhart
