The Cameronian crest suggests this is a military burial, but I'm unsure if it is David Walkinshaw or David Heughan Mulholland who the crest relates to.

Perhaps a family member might come across this site and enlighten us?

Perhaps the most famous military connection to Carluke. This is the grave of William Angus, VC. One of three Victoria Cross winners from this very small town, Angus is the most famous of the three.

Full details of his story can be found at this website.

The Victoria Cross at the top of this grave is made of what appears ot be plastic, and apparently was placed to replace the inscribe VC, which had become worn.
