"The remains of Captain Reed adjutant of the 3-7th Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, were interred in Dunbar Cemetery yesterday afternoon with full military honours. Deceased died earlier in the week at Alloa with startling suddenness while engaged with his military duties."

From a correspondant................

"He died at the Royal Hotel in Dunbar of a gunshot wound to the head"

However, as he is listed on SNWM this was not considered to be a suicide. Surprising then that his name is not on the Dunbar war memorial where he died and where he is buried.

There is a headstone for WB Jardine G68, right next to J Turnbull G70 it is a Family headstone.There are also headstones for F Reed Tall white Celtic Cross, on path section E faces Boundary wall, Alexander Smith Millar,red Granite stone against boundary wall in section A92. SH Henderson is also in section A 320 tall grey Granite as you come into the church it is on the right hand side,straight across the road from W Lough Cwgc .
